Saturday August 16th a walk arouind Blaenau with added history

A Blaenau walk with a Blaenau Boy. Denis was brought up in Blaenau Ffestiniog, he brings a wealth of history and information to this walk. You may have heard that unfortunately Denis injured himself while on holiday and is unable to accompany us on the walk, but he will be the at the start and the finish. Monica will be leading the actual walk. Blaenau has changed from a rather down at heel former slate mining town, to a trendy, gentrified, artistic, artisan town.
The walk will be roughly 5 miles in and around Blaenau and will highlight local features and some town history. Some of the buildings which appear in the drawings of Falcon Hildred will be pointed out and the walk will include a visit to Falcon’s home in an old mill in Blaenau (contribution suggested £3?) No. 1 bus runs from Caernarfon & Porthmadog to Blaenau. A walk that should not be missed.
