One of the snags with arranging a programme of walks many months ahead of the walk date is that things change later. And so it has come to pass, as they say on Life of Brian, that nice as leading a Ramblers walk is, a visit by our two daughters and four granddaughters this weekend wins hands down, so I am swopping leading for crabbing, cricket and a climbing wall.
John Carson has kindly agreed to take the walk instead, and will be waiting to greet you opposite the Cwellyn Arms in Rhyd Ddu at 11am on Saturday morning. The 11.09 bus will take everyone to Beddgelert, to start an easy walk up Nant Gywnant past Llyn Dinas. The route up Cwm Llan will show you the new dam and collection point for the NT hydro electric scheme at the head of the falls, then it’s a more challenging climb to the ridge and up to Yr Aran
Hope you enjoy the walk, and refreshments in the tea room or pub in Rhyd Ddu afterwards.
