Seventeen of us left the hotel car park in reasonably good weather. After climbing up the Zig Zags into the quarry we had a brief look into the building which housed the “Big Compressor” (this machine provided compressed air to the drills around the quarry) we then climbed a bit higher up to the Anglesey Barracks where we had our coffee stop.
Following coffee we entered the country park for a while before climbing up above Dinorwic, it was here that I had planned to have lunch but it started raining, so I decided it would be better to find a bit of shelter from the wind and rain back in the country park.
After what turned to be a rather late lunch by the waterfalls we continued our walk winding our way up and down through the park before returning to the hotel car park. Most of us made our way up to Rose Cottage were Vicki had the kettle on and we all had tea (and Cake)
The walk was 6.4miles long but the surprising thing is that we climbed just under two thousand feet which I think made it a bit more than just a walk in the Park !!
