Despite a mixed weather forecast and a late night in front of the television watched the Olympic Games opening ceremony twenty four of us set off from Llanberis in dry conditions.
We made good time to the top of Bwlch Maesgwm and had a short coffee stop before making our way to the summit of Moel Cynghorion and then surprise- suprise it started to rain!! The rain continued as we descended into Cwm Brwnynog but thankfully stopped just after we finished our lunch and stayed that way for the rest of our walk.
We followed the narrow path down to Helfa Fawr and made then made the short climb up to Hebron. Here a few of the group made their way down the road back to Llanberis while the rest of us continued the walk skirting around the foot of Derwlyn and descending down the steepish path to Pentre Castell
.On are way back to the car park we called in at Rose Cottage were Vicki had Tea and Cake waiting for us, by now the Sun was shining which meant we were able to sit outside. It was a nice way to end our walk
