Another good John Carson Walk Jan 21st 2012

There are certain ingredients that a walk with John will have:- Mud - Mist - a Challenge. These ingredients were there on Saturday. We met and finished at Llan Ffestiniog. The highlight of the walk was the beautiful Cynfal Gorge. With recent rains the waterfalls, the rushing river were at their best. We walked along the wildest and most remote Golf Course, rather windy at this stage, no golfers were to be seen and the nineteenth green was deserted. Lunch was taken back on the Afon Cynfal, before the sharp ascent back to the village and to the cars. We were determined to take advantage of the new community pub now reopened in the village. Personally I think it is still on a steep learning curve. The beer was???? The Gents toilets rather fell short of the highest standards. However best wishes to this new venture, no doubt we shall return.
