It was Mothering Sunday, & blowing a cold wind, So just a select few, hardy, enthusiasts turned up, 10 in all. We set off down to Llanbedrog beach, tide being low enough to walk round to the cliff steps, then the long ascent up...quite a challenge for my replaced knees, but well worth the effort for the view through the iron man, skeletal to withstand gale force winds...[earlier versions were swept into the sea I was told]. The coastal paths through gorse & heather are wonderfully maintained, recently cut back, wide & clear, with splendid views. Now toastily warmed by our exertions, was a good time for coffee, & taking in the views from well placed seats...The wind soon got us moving again. Circling back to Llanbedrog village, we passed beautiful cottages & gardens. Out the other side onto field ancient paths, John pointed out a fearsome stone dragon ready to dive off a roof top. Our lunch stop, sheltered by ancient oaks, boardering a wide track, was well chosen. Even the sun that had shafted out to sea, came out for us.. I had not walked any of these paths before, so especially enjoyable...7 miles in all, we all thoroughly enjoyed the walk & good companionship. Thank you John.
