Ten of us joined John C. for Saturdays walk from Beddgelert to Rhyd ddu via Yr Aran. We set off in sunshine passing Sygun copper mine, over to Craflwyn, stopping at the giant chair for coffee. Onwards and upwards following the path towards the Watkin path.
As we stopped for lunch our luck ran out with the weather as low cloud and drizzle set in. As the rain got heavier and my waterproofs more useless the prospect of going up Yr Aran became less attractive so five of us decided to take the direct way back while John and his fellow intrepids disappeared into the mist heading for the summit.
The weather picked up again as we headed down through the old quarries and we admired the hanging gardens of Snowdonia.
Thanks John and Dave for a well planned and satisfying linear walk.
