An amazing turnout of 26 people assembled at the start probably due to the fact that a rare dry and windless day was forecast, and everyone keen to escape from the indoors.
We followed footpath 32 through the quarry to Nant Peris ( a bit tricky in places) to the park and ride car park in Nant and followed the north side of the river before crossing it and stopping at a convenient spot for our lunch. We continued along the path to the lay by on the main road before crossing the road to take the 'landrover track' back up through the quarry. As ever, we marvelled at the wall building skills of the quarry workers and contemplated their arduous and very dangerous working conditions for a very meagre wage. We rejoined our outward path and continued back to the cars taking an opportunity to visit the view point on the way.
Walking the various paths through the quarry is always extremely interesting and quite sobering when we remember that these exposed cliffs were once the 'factory floor' for three thousand workers! We never tire of it.
