It must be due to Climate Change or Global Warming but this was the second consecutive "John Carson Walk" when the sun shone and the rain stayed away.
Starting from near the dam, we travelled almost North to ascend Moel Hebog by a series of fairly clear paths which are not particularly steep and largely grassy. Lunch was taken near the summit in a sheltered hollow where we were all lulled into a false sense of security that it really was a warm day. This was somewhat upset when we stood up and started to move; By eck, the wind was cold!
A steep,scree covered, easterly descent towards Cwm Llwy put some strain on the knees before heading towards Bryn Banog. We then re-gained Cwm Ystradllyn above the quarry workings and followed a reasonable track along the South side of the lake, back to the dam.
A great walk,in good weather with fabulous views all round was thoroughly enjoyed by all
