Sat Aug 13th Moel Lefn/Moel yr Ogof

Recce done in glorious weather last week. Note that the start reference is not the main car park in the forest. If you do park on the main car park, the start is about 200 yds back up the track towards the forest entrance. As we pass through the car park at the end, you will not be doing any extra distance.
We start with an easy walk along forest tracks to Llyn Llewelyn and then leave the main track to exit the forest and head up to Moel Lefn (2093ft).
An easy, short descent of about 200 ft into the bwlch is followed by about 250ft of ascent to Moel yr Ogof, at 2149ft, the highest point on the route.
We then descend into Bwlch Meillonen where a recently installed "bridge" cuts out the traverse along the wall that was previously the only alternative to wet feet (and probably more). From here, we descend back to the forest and use forest paths and tracks back to the start.
