Thanks to all those Ramblers who were able to get to our first evening social event. About twenty members took part in the January quiz in Beddgelert, and judging by the number who asked when the next one took place, most seemed to enjoy the evening. The quiz is now a regular monthly occurrence at the Saracens Head Hotel, but unlike the quiz I saw advertised recently, it does not have a top prize of £600. Prizes are much more low key, and the evening much more relaxed. Though with plenty of raffle prizes as well, there is a good chance of taking something home. (What's that about a wooden spoon seen heading towards Criccieth?!).
For those who wish to just come along and chat, or for mixing in the interval and after the quiz, there is a another bar behind the lounge at the Saracens.
All the money raised during the evening goes to local 'good causes', the Beddgelert nursery school receiving more than £200 following the January quiz.
So if the roads are clear of snow on the 24th February, and you would like an evening out, the Saracens Head around 7.30pm could be the place to be.
Look forward to seeing you there.
Rumour has it that a ten pin bowling session is being lined up as a social event for March. Anyone with ideas for April?
