The summit of Moel Siobod was clear when twenty one of us left the car park which was good news and as we climbed slowly up the mountain the sun actually came out!!
The climb to the summit was uneventful apart from one of our number deciding to turn back about half way up.We had our lunch break just off the summit to get out of the breeze and then made the quite long but quite easy descent to the Pen-Y Gwryd Hotel with superb views of the Snowdon Horseshoe all the way down. For some strange reason it proved impossible to prevent most of our group from entering the hostelry!!
We then continued our walk following the very ill-defined Esme Kirby path down the west side of the valley back to the car park at Capel Curig.By this time the wind speed was increasing and black clouds were looming on the horizon.
Once again the walk was longer than in the book it must have been the extra distance we had to walk to the bar at the Pen y Gwryd!!
