This must be one of the easiest ways to walk up a 2000ft mountain!!
From the hotel car park we steadily climb through Coed Victoria and make our way across the valley onto the bridal path that leads us the top of Bwlch Maesgwm, here we turn south east onto Moel Cynghorion itself, this is the only really steep part of the walk but its only for about three quarters of a mile to the summit
We now make a short but steep descent down to Bwlch Cwm Brwynog and then turn North down the valley on a little used path until we reach Helfa Fawr, from here we follow the track that crosses both the Mountain Railway and the Snowdon Path and skirts around the foot of Delrwyn before dropping to llanberis.
There should be plenty of free parking at the south end of the Hotel car park (try the yard as well) if not there is room for at least six cars in front of my home which is just around the corner from the Hotel. (Rose Cottage)
The five day forecast looks promising for Saturday and if it is clear the scenery will be spectacular.
