Despite leaving home with lots of time to spare, Joan and I arrived at the start with just a few minutes to spare before departure time, our lane had been well and truly blocked with a builders lorry unloading its cargo, the joys of living on a hillside. Despite the forecast being pretty grim the weather at the start was quite good, however it soon turned wet, but there were 10 members keen to brave the elements.
We set off up through Glyn Rhonwy until we reached the Clegyr road and headed towards Bryn Bras until we reached the point where we turned left. This section was a little boggy in places, just a mere taster of what was to follow! We then passed close to the old Marconi building where some of the first radio messages in morse code where transmitted, very topical at the moment with the anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic. To say visibility was poor is an understatement, the superb views we had enjoyed last Saturday were completely hidden. C'est la vie. We continued on the track towards Waenfawr where we had lunch sheltering behind a wall. It was decided to miss out the summit of Cefn Ddu, rain and lack of visibility excuses used!! Another day maybe, so we continued down towards Llanberis where we all enjoyed a hot drink in Pete's Eats.
