Despite having lost an hour over night, fifteen of us arrived at the start for John Carson's walk. After the initial shock of several members exposing their knees to the sun, we set off to Tremadog where the first ascent of the day led to the heights above Tremadog and Penmorfa before the days first descent from Craig y Gesail, passing through the malodorous farm yard of which we had been warned at the start.
A gentle amble then led us over the main road to our 'butty break' near Penmorfa before we headed towards Moel y Gest for an ascent from the west with a bit of easy scrambling to the summit. After revelling in the panoramic views, we descended to Porthmadog where the magnetic attraction of the pub on the platform seemed irresistable to most of us.
A great walk on a glorious day with wall to wall sunshine and a suprising lack of mud for a John Carson walk.
Thanks John for a great day.
