| [b]Dafydd is unable to lead this due to a "gammy knee" and has asked me to 'do the honours'. A recce was done last Saturday by Chris, Lew, Ian and I on a day when the weatherman kept threatening us but didn't get around to attacking. The route is as near to 8 miles as discrepancies in two GPSs would allow and initially follows the old Drover's track from Capel to Crafnant. We then enter the forest for the only real uphill stretch of about half a mile before heading south on open forest tracks, past Llyn Bychan and following forestry tracks until we leave the forest, cross a bit of soggy Welsh hillside and rejoin the outward path with less than a mile back to the start. The majority of the forest section is fairly open and the views are well worth bringing a camera. Come along and have an enjoyable Dydd San Dewi +3 | |
