The forecast for Saturday looks somewhat uncertain at the moment but hopefully the weather will be better than the forecast.
The walk, starting from the first lay by past Ogwen cottage (coming from Bethesda) heads up to Llyn Bochlwyd- a fairly steep ascent where it is likely that it will be "Amser coffi".
We then go above Clogwyn Y Tarw before descending to the path around Llyn Idwal for a short distance before heading up to the bottom of Cwm Cneifion. A descent to pass below the Idwal Slabs is followed by a steady climb the the base of Twll Du. Then we follow the Western side of Llyn Idwal back to Ogwen Cottage. (No shop but toilets).
There are several alternatives depending on the weather at the start and the route can be shortened or extended dependent on the conditions.
If you are familiar with this magnificent area you will already appreciate the fantastic scenery, if you don't know the area you are in for a treat.
