Very poor conditions on the hills with outbreaks of rain and drizzle, extensive low cloud, and gales. Improving from the west in the afternoon to sunshine and showers but gales persisting on the hills.

That’s the Met Office mountain forecast for Snowdonia for Sunday. The ridge between Cwm Brwnynog and Nant Peris, or Garnedd Ugain on Crib y Ddysgl , are not the best places to be in a gale, so sorry, the walk is cancelled.

For a better chance of good weather, try Mickey’s eight mile rail ramble from Tonfanau on Wednesday, departing on the 10am train from Porthmadog. The fortunately still young ones have to buy tickets, the oldsters can use their bus passes!
