Wednesday's walk 20 July - Llyn Idwal
After the hotest day of the year on Tuesday, Wednesday dawned to thunder, lightening and hail stones!! - Typical!!
However, six of us set off in sunny weather to do a walk feeling as if we were really in the mountains, but it was easy, so long as you looked where you put your feet!! However, when Nigel asked, "are we heading towards Hells Mouth"? we did wonder what he had in mind!! Devil's Kitchen had been renamed. Coffee break was spent below Idwal Slabs watching a couple of climbers negotiating a gully which, Dennis informs me, is known as The Ordinary route, and lunch was taken by the beach where some of us had a lovely paddle, very refreshing for the feet. A few youngsters were playing in the water a little further along, but considering it is school holiday time, there were not too many people. An Ice cream was enjoyed by all at the finish. So a lovely day, great company, weather sunny and dry, and at just 4 miles, far from taxing.
Pictures to follow - hopefully!!
