Forecast looking good for Saturday. Start 10:00 from CP behind Joe Brown's at Capel Curig for 9 mile part flat(ish) part mountain walk.
The first couple of miles are fairly level along the track through Nant y Benglog before we turn left to pass Tryfan Bach on the way into Cwm Tryfan. Here we have great views of the Eastern face of Britain's favourite mountain.
From a distance, the path looks obvious but part way up towards the Miner's track we come across another track (hopefully) that leads us almost horizontally apart from an easy scrambly bit onto the wide ridge.
We pass the lake of the Marmalade Pony (ask and ye will be informed) before the gentle ascent to the top of Foel Goch and a by-pass of the summit of Gallt yr Ogof. From here it is almost (but not quite) all downhill through Bwlch Goleuni back to the start.
Just over 9 mi on the recce (see pics on FB), not too easy but definitely not a lung or leg buster.
If you just want an easy 4 or 5 mi walk, start with us and walk as far as Gwern Gof Uchaf and then turn round back to the start.
It will be done at an easy pace (I've not fully recovered from an asthma attack caused by last week's pollution) and Kerry has made the point that we will not be rushing. We only had a couple of stops in addition to lunch, on the recce but more are quite likely on the day.
It is always a bit boggy along the final wide ridge, definitely not wellie country but gaters are advisable.
