The forecast is dry and bright for this leisurely walk around Llyn Cefni Reservoir. It is a little longer than advertised in the book. 7.3 miles not 6.5! However along a flat well maintained path all the way. Beautiful lake side views most of the way, past an old woollen fulling mill, ending in The Dingle an incredible 1km of board walk along the steep valley of the Afon Cefni.
We have permission to park in the Oriel Mon car park, it is best at the bottom end, at the base of the slope.
Afterwards we can wander around the Gallery, which has a permanent viewing of Kyffyn Williams and Charles Tunnecliffe pictures. Unfortunately we have just missed the Josie Russell Exhibition, but opening on the day of our walk The North Wales Open Studios, pictures by local artists all over North Wales. The lovely cafe in the Gallery will be open.
This is a non gaiter walk! Though quite long, this walk is suitable for a friend or neighbour, to have a good experience as a first walk with us.
