Hopefully this will be third time lucky following the previous two Saturdays.
Much of the territory will probably be new to many of you (the first 5 or 6 miles was new to us on the first recce).
An easy start through the forest leads out onto open moorland where we modified the initial plan to avoid the need for snorkels. (and that was before the recent spell of rain)
We then make a fairly steady ascent up to about 1500 ft before dropping steeply to Llyn Cwm Bychan.
The 'return' leg is via the Roman steps (Rumours have it that a centurion was seen here within the past couple of years). A descent into the forest leads to an easy return along forest tracks and paths.
It is a bit rocky in places but nothing to be concerned about.
The approach is from A470 about 1k south of Bronaber. Take the'yellow' road heading west. There is a gate on this road within the first 100 yards or so.

A couple of days ago there were several 'sets' of roadworks between Penrhn and Traws, some with traffic lights so you might find delays.
