An article based on what our Volunteer Working Grwp have achieved will shortly be published in the Daily Post. The article includes an invitation to join the CA /DW Ramblers.
The Ramblers in Gwynedd have now linked up with hard pressed Council Staff to provide a team of CA / DW volunteers to help restore and maintain footpaths in Gwynedd. After just two days work on the hillside at Fachwen, above Llyn Padarn, paths which had become overgrown and very difficult to use are once again back in use. Twelve volunteers working with Council Staff cleared bracken, vegetation and small trees, bridged streams, cleared ditches and erected way markers. The volunteers achieved this whilst Council workers installed a new kissing gate and cleared larger trees with a chainsaw.
At the present time the work is for just one day a month. If you feel that you could spare a few hours supporting this very worthwhile and enjoyable cause please contact Graham. email:
graham.fitch@orange.net and you will be kept fully informed as to our working days and the work schedule for the day. In addition or as an alternative you may also like to do some survey work for the Council reporting on the condition of the paths in your area. Generous travelling expenses can be claimed 'Every Little Helps', and your support will be very much appreciated.
