Let's start with the warning.
Anyone intending to go to the start from the Porth/Cricieth area. The A498 is closed between Prenteg and Nantmor so allow extra time.
Now, the walk. About 8 miles (not 9). It is quite strenuous .Although within the Snowdonia National Park, it is not a 'walk in the park'. We make a total ascent of about 2500ft. The initial ascent to the 'heights' above Llyn yr Adar is fairly straight forward if a bit soggy in places (wear your gaiters). Then from Llyn yr Adar we lead on to the Ysgafell Ridge and 'follow the fence' to Llyn Edno. Then a long descent back to the start. I hope that the next statement will not result in bad weather but the views from the top, along the Ysgafell Ridge age superb with a large part of the Snowdonia skyline in view.
