Well, those who were at the Brew Pub in Waunfawr on 2nd March now know a little more about things to do with Wales. Who would have thought there would be an elephant buried behind a pub in Tregaron, or that the first comprehensive school in Britain was opened at Holyhead? The 'well I never factor' was high, as were the groans of anguish - ah, a fun packed evening! I'm sorry if some of the questions seemed just a little obscure, but I didn't know that you were not particularly interested in the Roman invasion of Anglesey, or the length of the Offas Dyke Path.
Judging by the many kind comments, and apart from the pain of trying to answer some of the questions, it seemed a good occasion that we all enjoyed. The quiz and raffle brought in £66 to the Caernarfon & Dwyfor funds, which will help support courses that take place this year.
Thanks to all those who kindly donated prizes for the raffle and to all those that came along for the evening. I imagine we will run a similar evening later in the year and I think we already have a couple of people lined up to devise the questions.
