While none of the three peaks we shall visit are in the Premier league, the height tariff for the day is quite high. Tre'r Ceiri 460 metres and Yr Eifl 564 metres. Fortunately we do not start at sea level, but at 292 metres!
The effort is well worth while, as this walk features in the walkbritain book. - Great views. The Ramblers top fifty walking routes to Britain's finest views. This walk is No 28 on page 218 if you have the publication. We start in the large car park above the village of Llithfaen, also the approach CP for Nant Gwrtheyrn the Welsh language and heritage centre. The first rocky outcrop attained is Caergribin, then the peak of Trer Ceiri. There are 150 hut circles in this hill top citadel. I am sure there will time for refreshments and photos, before the final push up to Yr Eifl. Here we have the possibility of seeing southern Ireland - the Lake district, the magnificent spread of the Snowdonia Mountains and the Isle of Man? There will be plenty of time to linger on the tops. We drop fairly quickly directly back to the car park. No immediately local watering holes, but Clynnog has opportunities to talk over the days achievements. Do ring Edmund on 01286 880188 for further information, including car sharing.
We are looking forward to the day.
Edmund and Rachel.
