Unlike the perfect meet on the recent Porth Dinlaen walks, this time the Stride group did not catch up with the Strollers until back at the Snowdonia Parc Brewpub. The morning bus to Rhyd Ddu being 15 minutes late did not help!
But nobody seemed too disappointed. Led by Dennis the Stroll group had enjoyed a leisurely afternoon walk from Betws Garmon on the paths either side of the Afon Gwyrfai, the timing taking full advantage of the suns appearance. The Stride group, including two walkers from as far away as Mold, survived the steep ascent to enjoy lunch on a clear, sunlit Mynydd Mawr, with good views all around.
Back in Waunfawr, while some had to leave the rest of us chatted away, enjoying the liquid refreshments and the warmth of the sun. One could almost think it was August. How lucky we were, considering the rain on Monday and Wednesday afternoons!
