Well, the forecast shows sun, showers and light cloud for Saturday – but in this changeable summer, who knows what the day will bring. Dave & Pats 2.30pm start for the Stroll to Porth Dinlaen, and the optional Trwyn Porth Dinlaen, should catch the best of the day. Just like yesterday, when in a check of the Stride walk we started in waterproofs but spent the rest of the day in shorts.
As a result of the check, and discovering what a lot of sheep and heavy rain can do to broken cliff edge paths, the Stride walk will skip Porth Ysgaden, instead hitting the coast at Porth Towyn. It will still be an 8/9 mile walk, with the last mile spent ambling along the shore from Porth Dinlaen in the company of the Stroll group, who we expect to find clustered around the Ty Coch Inn or paddling in the sea (or swimming, of course).
Parking at Morfa Nefyn was easy in the rain yesterday, might be a little different on Saturday, so shared cars an advantage. I have three seats spare and will be in Caeathro around 9.45am and points west after that, if anyone would like a lift.
