Cwmorthin & Moelwyn Mawr - Saturday 18 April

It might be tempting fate, after the heavy showers this week, but the forecast looks good for Derek’s walk this Saturday. From the Llyn Tanygrisau car park we walk up through Cwmorthin to the remains of the wide spread slate quarries at Bwlch Cwmorthin. From there we head up to Moelwyn Mawr, a great summit for extensive views of sea and mountains (now that is tempting fate!).

Descending to the bwlch between Moelwyn Mawr and Moelwyn Bach we then carry on down to Llyn Stwlan. The wall of the dam is an impressive feature as we walk below it, then it is down to Tanygrisau and a welcoming panad in the café. See you for a 10.30 start on Saturday.
