In the dog days of Winter Ca/Dw Group are surprisingly lively. Some great attendances on the walks since Christmas. Some crisp sunny weather has helped. The enemy is the rain or snow!

Footpath Maintenance Group. This goes from strength to strength. This is now the most important work we do. Our January working Group cleared some of the Pilgrimage Route from Holywell to Ynys Enlli, it was a privilege to be part of this Group. The North Wales Pilgrimage route passes through the heart of our Ramblers Area. During the summer months Pilgrims are increasing in number, anyone who has walked the the Pilgrims route to Santiago de Compostella, will know about the power of Pilgrimage The next Footpath Maintenance Group working party is on Tuesday February 24th in the Garn Dolbenmaen area, why not join us in this important work of keeping our paths open. Please contact Graham Fitch on 01248 670778 or on

The Annual Quiz Night. This Wednesday January 28th. One of our most successful nights out of the year. The Snowdonia Park Hotel, Waunfawr is our host. The quiz starts at 8pm (£1). Usually we start the (optional) meal at 7pm, you can choose from the menu and book at www.snowdonia-park.co.uk
Thanks go to Derek and Wendy Pearson who are running the quiz this year. You are warmly invited to come along and join in this excellent night out. There will be prizes!

Walks coming soon.
February 3rd -7th -11th and 25th. All except the first walk on February 3rd are part of our shorter walks programme, to encourage people out in February, who are not attracted to the high slopes in mid winter! All the details for these walks are in the North Wales Walks Booklet, on our Ca/Dw walks leaflets and our web site at www.cadramblers.co.uk. Then click on walks Diary

A long week end away. The dates for this week end away are now fixed for Friday July 3rd until Sunday or Monday July 4th or 5th according to your time available to be away from home.
Our time away will be based at Bishops Castle in Shropshire, it is a two and a half hour journey by car. This delightful rural town has many places to stay, to suit all budgets, including a YHA Hostel at nearby Clun. The local walks are special and include - Offa's Dyke - The Shropshire Way, Owen Glyndwr's Way and Wild Erics Way. The Stiperstones shuttle bus runs throughout the summer. Many circular walks start from the centre of Town. More details in the next newsletter. Accommodation - meals out and the walks. Hopefully we will have at least one meal at the Castle Inn, a rather special place. Shropshire is one of the most rural and depopulated Counties in the England. It will be a great time away in a relatively unknown area. Please do take the week end off and come with us. Mark off the dates in your diary ASAP!
