Circuit of Moel Wnion Sat May 10th 10.00 am. SH 622 712

From the start of the walk (which is over the duel carriageway bridge in Tan Y Lon on the “old” A55 by Hendre Farm)  we climb quite steeply for about half a mile up a lane before getting onto the hillside below Moel Wnion.

Once reaching the hillside we gently climb up to about 1500ft and then follow the contour line around Moel Wnion. As we walk round we will see spectacular views of Mynydd Perfedd, Foel Coch, Y Garn with Elider Fawr in the back ground. Further round the hill we have high level views of Aber Falls.

The path eventually descends onto the North Wales Path which we follow for about two miles; finally we walk back down the short  hill we climbed at the start back to our cars.

Apart from the short hill at the start the rest of the walk is very easy with both the climbs and descents being very gentle.

This is the perfect walk if you want to get into the hills without having to cope with rough paths and steep climbs and descents!!
