A promising forecast (No it isn't promising rain!) for this trip to the lesser-used end of the Nantlle ridge.
The recce was just over 7.5 miles (GPS, not string-measured). This did not include a wander around the rocky top of Mynydd Graig Goch which, if done, will add less than half a mile but provide some fabulous views.
We start from the 'top' end of the lane to Cwm Silyn, just through the gate, and head, initially towards Garnedd Goch before heading diagonally across the hillside to Bwlch Cwmdulyn.
A fairly flat plateau leads to the rocky top of Mynydd Graig Goch ,re classified as over 2000ft and therefore becoming a HEWITT a few years ago.
We then retrace the route back to Bwlch Cwmdulyn before a fairly steep, but short walk to the summit of Garnedd Goch.
A fairly level but rocky 'path' leads on the the high(est) point of the day on Craig Cwm Silyn.
The descent follows the rim of Cwm Silyn and ends with an easy wander, downhill along the track back to the start point.
It is a fairly strenuous walk but nothing too energetic and will be a leasurely pace (as all 'my' walks)
