After leaving the Fairy Glen Inn we follow a lane for a short while before beginning a short but quite steep climb up what is known as the “Donkey Track”we then turn west, and gradually contour around the foot of Tal Y Fan avoiding the wet bits on a footpath which eventually brings us to the summit (1974ft) From here we should get super views of the Great Orme the Menai Straights and Anglesey.
The descent from Tal y Fan is quite gentle and we soon reach the Roman road which we follow for a short while before turning north on track’s and paths to the top of the “Donkey Track.
At the foot of the track we rejoin the lane and its then just a short walk back to the Fairy Glen and I’m sure if it’s as warm as it was last Saturday we’ll be ready for some liquid refreshment.
The walk is just less than nine miles and the weather forecast is looking good, the terrain is easy going without any rocky bits!! only one short steep bit and the scenery is spectacular with mountains, sea and valley.
