A great walk in super weather.
Twelve (ish) of us set out from Tanigrisiau in a South Easterly direction before re-crossing the A 496 following the gorge of the Afon Coedol and taking coffee (or whatever) by the scenic waterfall. After following an obvious and dry track below Clogwyn Y Geifr we reached Dduallt station where lunch was enjoyed sitting on the slope by the viewpoint.
After retracing our steps for about half a mile we headed North, alongside the railway track where a bonus was the passing by of a real train with steam & smoke as opposed to diesel fumes.
Finally turning east to follow the eastern side of the reservoir we crossed beneath the dam and back to the start where a majority called at the cafe by the lake for a refreshing finish to a good walk.
6.1 miles with great scenery, sunshine and dry feet. Thanks John for a good walk.
The only "worry" is that the glorious weather might represent the only day between the disappearance of the winter snow and the onset of the summer monsoon!
