Was it me, the area, the weather or the promise of a fairly easy, under 6 miles walk that decided 30 people to congregate at Talsarnau station on a cold February morning.
Luckily it was a clear, if at times dull day so the views across the estuary were not obscured all day.
Initially up a lane, we soon entered woodland and after passing the opportunity for anyone to refresh themselves with a cold bath (no one did), and descending to a lonely gate, we arrived at Llyn Tecwyn Isaf where there were "more bums than rocks to put them on" for the coffee stop.
Then on, up the lane to Llandecwyn Church where several of our number visited the graveyard.
On reaching Llyn Tecwyn Uchaf I was really surprised that a lot of white flowers appeared to have opened in the previous week but on closer approach these turned out to be gorgeous ice crystals where spray had frozen on grass and gorse by the dam.
We descended the valley (pylon alley) to a stop for lunch before continuing downhill to Llandecwyn before following the coastal path along the embankment back to the start point.
It seemed from comments, that everyone had enjoyed the walk and the comment from one of our number that "It should have been a grade B walk because it went uphill" was taken with a rather large pinch of salt.
