An unusual start to a JC walk- sun and blue sky! Eighteen of us set off from the car park into Coed Maentwrog for the initial foray, south of the road but soon crossed onto the north side as indicated on the website. Largely following forest tracks and paths, and overlooked by Moelwyn Bach we did venture into "usual" Carson territory but only Lew managed to put his foot into a hole. After passing llyn y Garnedd Uchaf and llyn y Garnedd, we entered open country with views across towards Manod and also towards the great block of Traws. Lunch was taken here in a sunny if rather windy spot above Coed y Bleddiau.
Then on, across Y Garnedd to cross the railway at Tan y Bwlch station. Although the cafe was open, we had recently had our lunch stop so it was the "facilities" rather than the cafe that received most visits!
Then down through the woods to Llyn Mair before the final leg through the forest, across the railway and along Llyn Hafod y Llyn and back to the cars.
A great walk, in good weather on some unfamiliar territory. Several of us finished the day with liquid refreshment in "The Ring" Thanks John for a good walk.
