Twenty two people set out to reach the summit of Mynydd Mawr. Mountains are not conquered, they might give us permission to visit their summits?
The Elephant was in a good mood. The walk was cunningly devised to divide into two groups. One group to go straight to the summit, the other to visit the northern tip first (the Elephants Head). The day was not quite as good a forecast, but Moel Eilio and M-M stayed clear of cloud. Lunch was taken at the separate summits, then onwards to the summit, while the first group descended. We lingered, but not too long as the breeze was cool. Fortunately Rachel was in the group that was first to descend ready to put the kettle on at base camp. The advance party of John, Jane and Pat helped to prepared the magnificent spread for us all. Tea and the warm conservatory soon had us in a relaxed mood to recount the tales of the day.
