This is a route that I led a few years ago in glorious weather so I am keping fingers (and some other bits) crossed for Sunday.
We will start from the Car Park by the WHR at Rhyd Ddu and after crossing the fields to the foot of Y Garn we will encounter about 95% of the total uphill within about 3/4 mile. It's steep but not difficult. This part will be s-l-o-w as I don't have a high vertical ascent rate!
From Y Garn we will follow the ridge via Mynydd Drws-y-Coed and Trum y Ddysgl before descending the long grassy slope to Bwlch-y-ddwy-elor (The pass of two biers) and a return through the forest.
One or two people have indicated that they are a bit wary of going along the ridge. There really is nothing to be worried about, in places it looks frightening as it is approached but all the possibly dodgy bits can be easily avoided.
If you want to talk about it before deciding if it's for you, give me a bell on 01286881071 or 07981998282
