A gorgeous day and the promise of some stunning scenery greeted us in Tremadog Square for the 11:00 start.
Initially following the incline to Penmorfa, we then followed the lane, past the old church and on to Y Wern. Across the road the uphill track led us to the slopes of Moel y Gest where we paused for our lunch stop with glorious views across to Cricieth and the Lleyn.
A bit of horse play occurred on the way down towards Borth y Gest where the Blue Bells were in profusion in the woods before we passed the large boulder with the 'David of the White Rock' inscription. Thanks to Ifor for an explanation of this.
A descent through the woods led us to Borth y Gest where a brief pause allowed the views to be appreciated.
We continued past the boat yards in Porthmadog to reach the quayside where the Morris Dancers were jingling their bells.
Here, we largely parted company, some to visit Mr Spooner, some to catch buses or trains and some to 'do a bit of shopping'.
Following a visit to Cadwalladers Ice Cream shop, four of us continued back to Tremadog where two of us paid a visit to the Fleece.
A gorgeous day, everyone seemed to enjoy the walk and a record set:
I counted twelve walkers setting out from Tremadog and counted four of them returning.
