Festival of Winter Walks Monday January 2nd 2012. Meet 10am Penygroes CP

Once again we are part of a Nationwide Winter Festival Walks Programme organised by The Ramblers. The Festival has been promoted by the Holiday Guides in the press. 'What to do over the Holiday Period...
We meet 10am at Penygroes CP opposite Povey's Garage at the bottom of the village. I have been in negotiation with Gwynedd to have the toilets open by 9-30am!! Wait and see? The walk is just six miles, more or less flat (some undulations)! This an accessible walk for those new to the Ramblers, so please invite any friends, who have suggested that they wished they could get walking regularly again. On the way, there will views of the sea, plus points of historical interest. Graig y Dinas a hill Fort, where ancient artefacts have been excavated. On to Pont y Cim an ancient pack bridge with a story attached, which will be revealed on the day. It might even be true? Then on to an old woollen mill, called 'The Factory' A walk that is well worth the effort and an excellent start to our 2012 programme.
