North Wales Volunteer Development TrainingSite specifc training on practical Rights of Way Maintenance delivered on behalf of Ramblers Cymru by Andy Briscombe of Countryside & Conservation Contractors
In partnership with the Snowdonia Society and Gwynedd Council Rights of Way Team
Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th June 2011
Meet at 10 am at the Victoria Hotel Llanberis LL55 4TY - volunteers should expect to finish at approx. 4pm on both days.

Volunteers will spend the day with Andy learning practical, best practice skills in footpath path maintainence on a circular walk in the community of Llanberis.
The location has been chosen by Gwynedd Council Rights of Way team as one needing attention and suitable for a training day. Tasks will include :
• Maintenance to the existing footpath structures
• Removal of low overhanging branches causing obstructions
• Vegetation clearance to allow a minimum path width of no less than 1metre
Additional work to a linking footpath will include repairs to stonework of footbridge abutment.
• Clear out existing drainage ditches
• Repairs to a damaged slate culvert
All equipment will be provided by Andy, but volunteers will need to dress appropriately for the tasks and the weather. Bring wet weather gear and packed lunch.
Only 10 places available on each day
