Come along for this 7(ish) miles both in and out of Coed Maentwrog. From the start car park we follow forest tracks and paths to a superb viewpoint after about 3/4 mile (uphill) where we will have done the hardest part of the walk and be ready for coffee. Then its almost all downhill or flat for a few miles. Hopefully the local authority will not have closed one of our main paths for maintainance.( The notice, dated sometime in March, says that the path will be closed for maintainance sometime within the next 6 months) It was OK a couple of weeks ago and we have been away since then.
We hope to have a lunch stop on the old slate quay on the Dwyryd estuary before retracing our steps for a short distance and then back into the forest leading up to Rhyd and then back to the cars.
This is a fairly easy walk with the only fairly steep bits within the first mile. It is even possible to avoid this bit but as it includes a magnificent viepoint, it is well worth panting up hill for a short distance.
There are road works around the Porthmadog/Tremadog area so it will be worthwhile allowing plenty of time to get to the start.
Any problems, phone Chris on 01766515187 or, if you are really desperate- Me on 07981998282 Cool
