HEADWAY CHARITY SNOWDONIA NETWORKING TREK - 15 MAY 2011

What? The Headway Snowdonia Networking Trek is being organised for as outdoor way of networking by Headway Gwynedd (part of Headway – the brain injury association). The event is a ‘warm up’ for Gwynedd Business Week which starts on 23rd of May. The events is supported by FSB Gwynedd, CMI North Wales Network and Gwynedd Business Week.

Why? To raise funds for Headway Gwynedd and raise awareness of the effects of brain injury and prevention, at the end of Brain Injury Week on Sunday 15th May.

Where? The trek will start from Café Gwynant, in Nant Gwynant, parking Car park at Car Park at Pont Bethania on the A498 Beddgelert to Capel Curig Road. The café is open for breakfast and refreshments from 9 pm (earlier if there is sufficient demand in advance to open early). The trek will end at the café, where you can relax together afterwards.

When? The trek starts at 9.30 up the Watkin Path to the summit of Snowdon, returning by a different route around the other side of Yr Aran. Estimated distance 9 miles.

Who? The trek is for business people and managers in particular plus other Headway supporters. People taking part must have a good level of fitness for the 1000 metre climb.

How much? People registering for the walk will be asked to pay their £10 minimum sponsorship guarantee when registering for the walk, and we trust some will raise much more.

Leadership: Mark Sykes who led last year’s walk and has a BEd (Bangor) in Outdoor Education and is an experienced mountain climber and walker with his own outdoor pursuits company 'Off The Beaten Track' www.offthebeatentrackuk.co.uk.
