With a good weather forecast for this Friday (very different to John's walk last Saturday) I hope that you will join me for an interesting walk based on Waunfawr. Although classed as an easy walk we will still be doing some uphill walking - you may have already have met the metal ladders on the oldquarry men's route up from Waunfawr. This is part of the morning walk, to south of the village, while in the afternoon we head north and west, returning on the old road from Bontnewydd before dropping down into Waunfawr again.
This is a walk with a cafe lunch at Antur Waunfawr, where we have a flexible number block booking. So that they can be ready for us when we arrive I will have the menu choices and will be taking orders before we leave the station car park in the morning.
Antur is long established and well regarded for the valuable work that they do. If you have not been before you may well wish to return another time as there is much to see.
With the walk being a figure of eight (loosely!) there is the opportunity to just do one half if you wish, but please include the lunch in your planning.
The car park at the start is shared between the WHR and the Snowdonia Brewpub, so an opportunity for some thirst quenching at the end of the walk.
Look forward to seeing you.
Dave
