Sunday Sept 19th Crimpiau & Creigiau Gleision

Hopefully it will be clear so that we can experience some of the best views in Snowdonia. The first recce produced a couple of problems, the main one being my missing a track near the end and the resultant trek through virgin jungle. Now all sorted on the second recce.
The route is over 8 miles- the quoted mileage in the book was taken from a published walk long before a recce was contemplated. We will ascend from Capel Curig to the top of Crimpiau followed by ' a bit of down and up' to skirt round the top of Craig Wen and then follow the path just below the top of Creigiau Gleision with Llyn Cowlyd almost 1000ft below. Then descending through the forest to the end of Llyn Crafnant and back to Capel Curig along the old Dovers Track. It's all straightforward if a bit damp underfoot in a few places.
That's the plan. High winds could result in some changes in the interest of safety.
