Hi Everybody
As you are all aware the Slate Trail is now completely way marked and officially opened. I am sure you have read my full report on the front page of the recent edition of the North Wales Rambler.
Aled Owen is the secretary of the community action group in Cwm Penmachno, his efforts and of everybody involved in bringing this trail to completion has been entirely voluntary. A Committee was set up, Aled has done all the donkey work, a treasurer monitors the money and the committee receives monthly reports.
Finally the committee is now setting up a charitable incorporated organisation (CIO) and have offered an invitation to interested Ramblers to become Snowdonia SlateTrail Trustees. Several Tîm Taclo Llwybrau members will be acting as wardens for our groups designated section of the Trail between Penrhyn and Fron, our finding s will be reported to the Trustees. Having at least two Rambler Trustees would be ideal and could well lead to us influencing charitable funding for our public rights of way in the years ahead. Gwynedd Council is, with the help of us volunteers, entirely behind a scheme to establish circular routes involving the Slate Trail, Coastal Path, Pilgrim Way, 4 Valleys etc.
If you have an interest in Slate and would like to consider becoming a Trustee of the Slate Trail please let me know, your involvement would be very much valued and appreciated.
Best Regards
Graham
